k-break-ing – kei car tuning pt. 1

kbreaklife1This week I have decided to devote all posts to modifying of JDM “Kei-Cars”.  If you are not familiar with what a Kei-Car is, it is a very popular auto segment in Japan, due to their size, practicality, and to avoid extra costs with insurance, parking, and taxes.  For example, on a ferry ride that I took, your ticket cost is determined is by total length of your car.  Most Japanese car manufacturers offer a plethora of these tiny machines, from wagons and vans to trucks.  To be considered as a Kei-Car, your length must be under 3.4 m and your engine under 660cc.

kbreaklife2Naturally, the Japanese way of tuning is very detailed and complete.  K-Break shows this Honda Life equipped with original aero parts and Weds Kranze wheels.  I really like the original front fenders.  Also, no need to go above 17″ for wheel size on Kei-cars…
