Prius OG tuning

Thanks to Gary who sent in these pics of his Japanese-style inspired Prius. You don’t see too many of the old Prius modified, and Gary looks like he is on the way to big things! He is currently searching for a JDM front lip/bumper to set off the front.

As with most cars, the choice of wheels makes all the difference. He went with Work RSZ-R wheels, a classic wheel that is not often applied to the hybrid market. It is also very lightweight to keep the Prius’ gas mileage high.

cube on volk te-37 MAG BLUE

This is schtebie’s JDM-ized Nissan Cube from NissanCubeLife.com. I was pretty floored to see a new Cube on the famous TE-37 Volk Racing wheel, especially in the rare Mag Blue finish. Specs are made for daily driving at 16×7 +42. He also has some other nice modifications, from Tanabe coilovers to ARC engine accessories. This proves again that TE-37 look good on any car!

This is Charles’ second generation xB. For those looking to throw some VIP-style on their xB, take note here! The style flows very well with the deep dish 18″ SSR Vienna Kleid wheels, AirRunner suspension, and immaculate interior. I also love the pond lights installed on the side skirts.

Charles (scion619 on ScionLife.com) is sporting some nice ForjWorks full eyelids on his xB to give it a more aggressive, but smooth look.

As with any car, the stance really sets it off. Wheel specs are : 18×9 in front and 18×10 in rear. It is appropriately slammed to the ground with AirRunner air ride adjustable suspension.

A nice touch that I have always wanted to see is the Lexus LS460 exhaust tips integrated in to the Five Axis lip kit. You also can’t deny the awesomeness of the clean ForjWorks tail light covers. Awesome!

No VIP styled interior would not be complete without a wood grain dashboard and quilted Clazzio seat covers!

recent small car coverage

At the latest HellaFlush 4 show in Hawaii, there were a few good examples of tuned subcompacts. Above is the Eight08Customs xB with Forjworks eyelids, alongside a pretty cool RS 5.0 xB.

I really like this new Honda Fit with Takata Green wheels and a good stance. It is hard to pull off colored wheels but I think this Fit does it swimmingly well.

It’s rare to see a Toyota Yaris tuned up, but this owner in Hawaii knows what’s up. Perfect daily driver!

Also recently was the Wek’Fest 2010 in San Francisco. Here’s a few pics of the sub-compacts I found, taken by Canibeat…

Nice stance on this xB and I like how monochromatic it is. It definitely has a presence that sets it apart from other xB’s I have seen.

A lot of style going on here with rare JDM body pieces and painted BBS wheels.

One of the first things I noticed about this xB was the wheel studs that are poking out. They look good on a set of baby blue widened steelies!

Lastly, I thought that the wheel fitment was right on with this tC. Must be tough to drive this on the hills of San Fran!

Owner “Hobaud” on NissanCubeLife forums posted up some recent pictures of his White Pearl Nissan Cube. He has recently added some coilover suspension and clean SSR Vienna Kreis wheels in 18×8 +37 offset. Props to you for starting the wave of VIP styled Cubes!

JDM dimensional wheels from BADX

I was browsing an old Style Wagon Club magazine brought back from Japan and came across an ad for wheels from BADX Japan. Most of the wheels they produce are aimed at sub-compacts/smaller cars and have a dimensional face to them with the use of contrasting colors and depth. The wheel pictured above is the “Turbine”, inspired by, well, a turbine!

Another wheel, the DIVA Double Face, which features different colored spokes for a stealth effect, as shown on a JDM Toyota bB.

The offsets could be a little better, but it still looks good in my book.

Mobile U SEMA Show Project Build-Up – Pt. V – The Wheels

One of the most important elements of building a project like this is that the wheels match up with the rest of the car’s theme. SSR supplied these 3-piece Professor SP1R wheels in 16″ for our Cube, and I must say they look brilliant! The SP1R spec on these Professors signifies that they are made to fit smaller cars, such as the Nissan Cube, Honda Fit, or Scion xB. Wheel specs are currently confidential, but Bean Garage is planning on offering a wheel package that mimics the one on our SEMA ATI sponsored Cube. The above pic is the front wheel, and below is the rear wheel in this staggered set up.
