Petrolheads, look away. A large fire recently engulfed International Vehicle Importers, a company specializing in importing rare and sought after JDM cars. The reasons for the fire were unknown at first but the owner later released information regarding the whole incident. The entire story is very silly and tragic, but thankfully no people were involved or injured.
It's a bit of a freak accident really. The owner says that the warehouse next door was occupied by a tile company that very day, which later turned out to be an undercover operation for growing marijuana. Allegedly, the circuit got overloaded from something that the warehouse next door was doing and it short circuited, starting the massive fire that engulfed some truly great JDM legends.
An astonishing total of 24 cars got destroyed, among which a Mazda Eunos Cosmo, a 1990 Skyline GT-R Nismo and even a 2000 Skyline GT-R imported as a race car. All of the vehicles were either older than 25 years making them legal to import or exempt from those laws by being imported as race and show cars. Some personal items were lost as well and among other things, two of the owner's dogs got killed in the large fire. The owner said he's not worried about his business as he's got other cars and warehouses but he is upset about the irreplaceable cars and of course, mostly about his two beloved dogs.
