There's a brand new generation of the iconic Honda Civic, and this one seems to be on a good road to get back to its roots. The last generation, and especially the one before it, seemed a bit off track of what a Civic should be. The last generation started off shaky but soon gained some ground with numerous updates from Honda following customers' critics and reviews. Rather than fixing it to infinity, they decided to move to a new one (and after 5 years, a wise move indeed).
First of all, most of you will agree, this is a real looker. We don't think there was every a Civic as good looking as this one. Striking, yes. But handsome, no. The 2016 Civic seems to have hit the right spot in terms of styling. It's aggressive and striking but not too much, retaining a decent amount of dignity and elegance. The front end is especially good looking. The way in which the headlights integrate with the rest of the fascia has been done beautifully. From almost every angle, this car has presence.
The first engine option is a 2.0 liter four-cylinder with power slightly depending on the trim. All of the Civics are front-wheel drive. The 2.0 unit develops 158 hp and 138 pound-feet of torque. It’s featured on the first two trims as standard. Fitted to it is a six-speed manual gearbox, but there is the option of a CVT. We don't typically like CVTs, but the Civic makes great use of it. The 2.0 unit gets 31/35 mpg on the combined run for the manual and the auto respectively.
The remaining engine is a turbocharged 1.5 liter four-cylinder unit. It's good for 173 horsepower and 161 pound-feet of torque. The CVT is standard, meaning there's no manual in the mix. With 6.7 seconds needed to get to 60 mph, it's a lot faster than most of its competitors.

The New York International Auto Show truly is in the past now, but as always, a few cars managed to make a significant mark on us and the automotive world as a whole. One brand making a really big impression at the moment is Hyundai. They seem to be on a roll and don't intend [...]
The very first generation of Minis was re-introduced and re-styled in the year 2000, but this time Mini was under the ownership of BMW and had a completely new look. The first generation of the new Mini was offered in a couple of trim-levels and sprouted different variants, most of them had a 1.6 liter [...]
